It was a good week. I finished the first draft of my next book (💃🏻) and have begun editing. First up, content editing where I round out the characters, sharpen up the plot, the sentence structure, and ensure all the dots connect and make sense. I love this this phase of writing. My first drafts are nothing short of torture, with the goal being simply to get the crazy, half-thought-out story in my head out on paper, so to speak. Now, it's time to beautify. Still much more work to go, but this is the fun part. I've learned not to pressure myself to write a perfect first draft. I envy the authors who write clean first drafts. I am not one of those authors. Regardless, the draft is done and I'm getting that spark of excitement as I see the story coming to life. So awesome. How was your week? I hope you take some time to relax on this beautiful Sunday. For me, I was able to get a bit of work done early, now a few house chores (laundry - almost as torturous as that first draft. God, I wish I was a natural housekeeper!). Next up, relax and read, followed by a grill-out in the evening. Here's to another good week ahead! ❤️
